After a successful recruiting season, GlobeMed at UCLA is proud to add SEVENTEEN new members to our chapter! We can’t be more excited to welcome such passionate and enthusiastic students to our cause. The first two (packed) meetings were spent introducing our chapter structure (which has undergone some cool changes–see below), the national office, our partner, and our mission.
Some exciting revamps for this year:
Internal chapter structure–Staff is now divided into “teams” led by E-board positions (Communications, Finance, Publicity, Campaign Teams, Community Building). Each staff member has a specific role within his/her team. We hope this will keep everyone engaged, accountable, and help us realize our full potential.
globalheathU–Instead of presenting articles and facts for discussion on different themes each week, gHU will now focus on empowering global health advocates with real-world skills needed to fight poverty. We will be discussing poverty in relation to health for the entire year, with small group facilitators from the gHU teams engaging members in meaningful dialogue every week.
